Book Review: What a Boy Wants

What a Boy Wants
Nyrae Dawn

Young Adult/ Romance/ Contemporary

4 stars out of 5

Courtesy of watching his mom’s relationships, Sebastian Hawkins knows what girls need to do to get a guy. He has what he considers a PHD in hooking up. When he needs extra cash for a car, Sebastian starts up an online venture as The Hook-up Doctor, to anonymously help girls land the guy of their dreams. Of course, his services don’t offer a happily-ever-after guarantee. He’s seen firsthand getting together never means staying together.

And then he falls in love…

With the last girl he would expect…

Totally not in his game plan.

Suddenly, Sebastian finds himself muddled in the game he’s always prided himself on. He can’t even pick up girls at parties anymore! Why would anyone want to be in love when it turns you into a stuttering, screwed-up, mess with really lame stalker tendencies? Stalking? Totally not his gig.

But the Hook-up Doctor won’t let himself go down easily. He’s always known how to give a girl what she wants and now it’s time to figure out what a boy wants… and he definitely plans on getting it

My Review:

This was such a delightful read.
I really enjoyed What a Boy Wants and it was like a breath of fresh air from all the other books I have been reading lately.
It was cute, funny, endearing, spunky and heart-warming.
I loved the characters and the story.
Even though the story was a bit predictable, I was able to figure some things out.
However, I was thrown for a loop, some things I guessed, was totally wrong and the author
made things seem so obvious and turns out it wasn't so obvious as I thought.
And I liked that, kept me turning each page, digging deeper and wanting more.

oh, and I can't forget that cover ;)
The squealing teenage girl in me , well, let's just say I had a swoon moment.....

I absolutely loved Sebastian.
He has this 'tough' exterior, but yet he has such a big heart.
And you just can't not like him.
Dawn did an amazing job with his character and the depth of which she created him.
He was so much more than the Hook-up Doctor.

And boy did the author throw in some super nice swoon moments.
;)

And it was a refreshing change from the female's POV, which is usually  all I read.
And I do love reading in the male's POV. It is always a delightful change of pace.

The story was beautiful and showed the readers a nice, different type of story.
It gave a new light on love and what a teenage boy heart's wants.
This is definitely a nice read for mother and daughter alike.
I found it so heart-warming.
Beautiful and fresh.

A good book to read over.
I give Nyrae Dawn major kudos.
She is so talented and it showed in this book.
She gave us lovable characters, and interesting, alluring story.
 And of course an invigorating
look into a boy's mind and heart.

* Well, this was a nice, sweet, short review, and I really need some coffee. I am so beyond tired*
