Review: Anna and the French Kiss

Title: Anna and the French Kiss
Author: Stephanie Perkins
Category: Contemporary Romance
Genre: Young Adult
Rating:4.5 stars out of 5
Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris - until she meets Etienne St. Clair: perfect, Parisian (and English and American, which makes for a swoon-worthy accent), and utterly irresistible. The only problem is that he's taken, and Anna might be, too, if anything comes of her almost-relationship back home. As winter melts into spring, will a year of romantic near - misses end with the French kiss Anna - and readers - have long awaited?

My Review:

This book was a very sweet, cute contemporary romance.
I am so glad I picked it up!

I've been in a Contemporary romance mood lately, and a friend of mine mentioned this book.
She knows my taste in books, so I am so so glad I took her up on reading it!

This book starts off  with a nice pace and a smooth introduce of the characters.
I was able to get into it with just the first page.
The main MC, Anna, she seems like your normal typical teenage girl.
Well, as normal as you can get when your dad is shipping you off to Paris for school.
I however, would of acted maybe a little differently than Anna did if I found myself in Paris.
I mean it's freaking Paris...
She took it a little harder..
But, as the story progresses, she comes off as a very relate-able character.

As soon as she arrives at the boarding school, she is beyond depressed that her father sent her away. During her senior year, too!
But as she slowly comes out of her shell, she makes friends, one that is a cute guy with an amazing accent.
accents, oh baby!!!

She soon discovers, Paris is a great city, and she begins to realized being there is one of the best things that could happen to her.

As we enter into Anna's world, we find she is a strong character.
She's very much like a normal 17 year old teenager.
And while she is trying to find her place at this new school, she meets and falls in love with a guy, who unfortunately isn't available.

Oh, St. Clair :)

As the story develops, so do the characters.
Each one is amazing.
And you can't help but the fall for them.
Especially St. Clair with that accent!
*have I mentioned he's adorable and has an accent?*

As the story progresses, each character gets tested.
From friendship to love, and you are able to sympathize with each one.
You get to know and understand each character.

What really made this book such a worthy read is that the love that Anna and St. Clair had, it grew.
They did have an immediate attraction, but their love gradually built up.
Just like their character. They grew so much.
I love reading books like that, it always feels more natural to me.
Their love and attraction felt right, it felt natural.
Perkins did an amazing job doing that.

Oh, let's not forget that ending
*squeals*

I did get a bit confused from the french words, I was most likely butchering the language. but even just *trying* to read the words was swoon worthy.
French is a beautiful language, written or spoken.

The author did a good job mixing humor, drama and love within this book.
Perkins did an amazing job with Anna's inner monologue!

With each page, I just fall more and more in love with the book, with the characters and with Perkins.

Anna and the French Kiss
Is a sweet, enjoyable read.
Cute and lighthearted
This book was simply amazing

So, if you love a good contemporary romance
And you love to experience falling in love
*with a guy with a smexy accent*
I highly recommend this book!
