Review: LUCID (Brightest Kind of Darkness #2) by P.T. Michelle

Title: LUCID
Series: Brightest Kind of Darkness, #2
Author: P.T. Michelle
Category: Paranormal/ Romance
Genre: Young Adult
Rating: 5 stars out of 5
Once Nara combines her prophetic ability with Ethan’s power to outsmart Fate at his own deadly cat-and-mouse game, she’s more determined than ever to help Ethan learn the meaning behind the raven sword tattoo that suddenly appeared on his back after their confrontation with Fate.

During her quest to uncover the tattoo’s secrets, Nara enlists the help of some new friends and discovers her own surprising connection to Ethan.

While Nara digs deeper into the mystery, her desire for answers leads her down a dangerous path full of powerful and ruthless enemies. Swept into an age-old battle, Nara quickly learns that keeping one’s enemies close can be a necessary evil, making an intangible enemy she can control far more preferable to the human enemies she can’t.

My review:

LUCID was everything I was expecting and so so much more!
It was a great second book in the Brightest Kind of Darkness series!
And gawd, I can't wait till the 3rd book!!
I can't stop thinking about it even though it's been weeks since I read LUCID.
(oh, fair warning, this review will just be me fan-girling)

When the book first started, I was a bit confused.
I got lost as to what was going on, but after the second chapter things are clear
and I couldn't put the book down.
New characters and enemies are introduce along with new mysteries about Nara and Ethan.
It sucked me in, with no chance of escaping.
We pick up a little bit after the first book, with Nara in another situation, dealing with things no normal girl would even think of. But Nara really isn't just any normal girl.
She sets forth to unlock the mystery of Ethan's abilities, her own, her father and tries to uncover the meaning behind the ravens and Ethan's tattoo.
As the story progresses, so does the plot.
It developed smoothly and the character development was amazing.
This book will take you on a whirlwind of emotions, you'll get so caught up in the story the author created, if feels like you are living it.

But even with the introduction of new characters, the old ones I loved are still making me smile in the second book.
We get to see even more of certain characters and each one has grown.
I was so happy to see Lainey again, she is one unique character!
And Gran, god I just love gran!

One new character that came along is an interesting guy that goes by the named Drystan, and yeah, he definitely comes off as yummy!
But you'll soon realized, he isn't what he seems.

And another thing,
No real love triangle thank god!!
I freaking hate love triangles!
And I'm so glad Nara didn't fall for Drystan's charms.
He put it on thick for her.
Nara is such an admirable character, she never questions her love for Ethan, she never gets confused
and she only ever sees Drystan as a friend!
Thank you P.T. Michelle for that!

I also found the ravens and the connection with the raven's so fascinating!
I love how the author adds that into the story!
It was so interesting.
And how they connected and protected Ethan and Nara,
I can wait to find out why!

The story was so intricate and mesmerizing
And as Nara digs deeper to uncover the mysteries surrounding her and Ethan,
a new evil appears, but who or what are they?
I can't wait to solve the mystery and to see where the characters are going!
I loved that it seems everything was planned, set up for Ethan and Nara.

I truly love Nara and Ethan.
They are so mature and responsible
they love, truly love each other.
Nothing gets in the way of that.
No drama, really, and no angst.
It was refreshing.

Inara also proves to be such a strong character. She never backs down, and she kept fighting. Even when it seemed desperate and she wanted Ethan by her side, she just kept going.

I really, really wanna know how and why they are connected.
I want to discover the mystery behind the tattoos and the ravens
Who is really Ethan and Nara, or better yet, what are they really?
I know human, but they are both something else.

I'm so so glad they are connected
They just belong together ;)
*inner fangirl moment*

P.T. Michelle also paces the book amazingly and the action is really good.
I didn't get lost during the action scenes.
And the book, never went too fast or too slow for me.
Don't forget the great mix of mystery and suspense!

Also the author introduces Parkour

I freakin' loved that!
Youtube it! You'll be amazed!

I have always been so intrigued with Parkour and wished I could learn how to do it! And then the author puts it in the story and I was just freaking out!

P.T. Michelle knows how to make the story so interesting, it just grabs you and holds your interests.

The only thing I didn't like, NO ETHAN!!
Wait, what..
Yeah, he really doesn't show up till closer to the end of the book..
And god.. I hated he wasn't there!!
It killed me.. ha ha
I understood why he wasn't there, why he was gone but still!
OOOHHH, when he does show up
He was hotter than ever!!!

But sadly, I didn't get my Ethan fix

But oh boy, those scenes when he arrives :)
My poor heart was aching for Ethan.
So P.T. Michelle, Ethan better be in the 3rd book, like the entire book!!!
All I know is that the 3rd book better have Ethan in it, more Ethan, lots more of Ethan.
He better be pratically in the entire 3rd book!!!
But you can tell from the moment he shows up, he has grow and developed.
The author also did an amazing job with his character growth.

The mystery will draw you in.
The book will become your world,
you will live in the world the author created.
You become the characters.

I loved, simply, purely loved this book.
And I cannot wait for the 3rd book!!
I might die...

You are left with many questions, but it makes the books so much better.

This book was amazing.
P.T. Michelle outdone herself , and I can't wait to see how she will surprise me in the 3rd book!
So, if you are into paranormal books,
something a little different from vampires or werewolves.
A book with no angst, or drama.

A story that will consume you.
Mystery and romance that will make you gasp and make your heart swell.
Then pick up this series!
