Review: Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover (GIVEAWAY)

Title: Maybe Someday
Author: Colleen Hoover
Category: Contemporary Romance
Genre: New Adult
Rating: 5  stars out of 5

At twenty-two years old, aspiring musician Sydney Blake has a great life: She’s in college, working a steady job, in love with her wonderful boyfriend, Hunter, and rooming with her good friend, Tori. But everything changes when she discovers Hunter cheating on her with Tori—and she is left trying to decide what to do next.

Sydney becomes captivated by her mysterious neighbor, Ridge Lawson. She can’t take her eyes off him or stop listening to the daily guitar playing he does out on his balcony. She can feel the harmony and vibrations in his music. And there’s something about Sydney that Ridge can’t ignore, either: He seems to have finally found his muse. When their inevitable encounter happens, they soon find themselves needing each other in more ways than one…

My Thoughts:

I can only truly sum up this book in one word: amazing. It was beyond amazing. It was a realistically beautiful story that sucked me and took me into a world filled with real love and real heartache. And I loved every second of it.

I love Colleen Hoover, no, I really do. One day I will shake that woman’s hand, and give her a chocolate cake for just being awesome, and for creating such wonderful books. Everything I have read by Colleen has been amazing. So I knew that Maybe Someday was going to be a whirlwind of a ride, thing is, I didn't expect it to be this much of a whirlwind.
“I want to be your end, but you gotta let it begin.”
The book is attention grabbing, but so are the characters.  Colleen did an amazing job at portraying them each as realistic individuals. Each one I became attached to in one way or another. And I loved that I was able to understand them on more than an emotional level. I was able to feel and understand their actions, thoughts, and emotions in a lot of ways.

Sydney is an amazing character. She’s a firecracker of a girl, with great strengths. That’s what drew me into her. Sydney also displayed such realistic emotions, from the heartbreak she suffers, to the love and pain she has to endure, to each obstacle she faced. Her strength, her inner courage, really came through during those times. She’s also a very mature, thoughtful, and understanding character.

Ridge, well, is another amazing character! He took me by surprise, in all honesty. He wasn't what I was expecting or his situation. But that’s something I also loved about this book, I wasn't expecting a lot of things that happened. And like Sydney, Ridge is such a realistic character. I really felt his emotions and his inner turmoil. He is also such a sweet and mature, insightful character. The maturity and how he handled certain aspects in the book, just made me love him! He is an intense character, one that has a big place in my heart now!

Another amazing thing Colleen did was allowing her readers to not only see but feel the growing attraction between Sydney and Ridge. It was another realistic factor that was breathtaking and beautifully told. They connected so well, hell, I don’t think I've encountered characters that connect like these two did. The chemistry builds between them naturally, and so does their attraction. It made my heart pound and took my breath away.
“How ever, I've learned that the heart can't be told when and who and how it should love. The heart does whatever the hell it wants to do. The only thing we can control is whether we give our lives and our minds the chance to catch up to our hearts.”
The plot unfolded amazing well, beautiful. The pacing was just to my liking and everything that happened felt natural. I was able to understand the characters on many levels. I also loved the little bit of mystery and the few, but intense, twists that Colleen throw in. The growth of the characters was visible, and very realistic in nature. I adored the main characters, loved the side characters, and even hated the ‘bad’ characters. And the love that builds between Ridge and Sydney was consuming, raw, and beautiful.  Colleen did an extraordinary job at allowing her readers to feel her characters.

Maybe Someday is a book that you feel. You feel the pain, you feel the love, you feel everything when you read it. And I loved every single second of it. It really was an amazing and beautiful story. It was funny, intense, sad, happy, and everything in between. I highly recommend this book to fans of Colleen Hoover or to those who love New Adult that tells an exquisite and realistic love story.
