Review: Tease by Sophie Jordan

Title: Tease
Series: The Ivy Chronicles, #2
Author: Sophie Jordan

Category: Contemporary Romance
Genre: New Adult
Rating: 5 stars out of 5
What happens when a girl who always calls the shots meets a guy who's too wild for even her?

A born flirt and good-time party girl, Emerson has never had a problem finding a willing guy. She's always chosen her hookups carefully, and she's never broken her three cardinal rules:

Never let them see the real you.
Never fall in love.
Always leave them begging for more.

Then Shaw comes along. A hottie from the wrong side of the tracks, he's immune to her flirtatious banter and come-hither smile. After rescuing her from a disastrous night at a biker bar, he doesn't even try to take her to bed—he calls her a tease and sends her home instead. Unable to resist a challenge, or forget the sexy, dark-eyed, bad-boy biker, she vows to bring him to his knees.

But instead of making Shaw beg, Emerson finds herself craving him. For the first time in her life, she's throwing out her rule book. Suddenly, she's the one panting for a guy she can't control—a guy who won't settle for anything less than the real Emerson and who forces her to do things she's never imagined, including facing a past she thought she'd buried.

A guy who just might leave her wanting more. . . .

My Mini Review:

Oh, how I just love this series! Jordan has created a cast of characters I can get enough of and swoony guys I just can’t help but fall for.

Jordan really pulled me into this world she has created. I enjoyed watching each character grow and overcome the challenges they faced. I liked how the story unfolded and the conflicts they had to overcome. The building of the story kept me enthralled and the growth of the characters were very noticeable and well-written.  And I can’t forget the smexy scenes. Oh! They were quite smexy!

I also felt like I connected to this story more than I did the first one. I think that is why I enjoyed it a bit more than the first book.  I connected with Emerson and Shaw; I felt for them emotionally and I could also feel their emotions when reading. The development between the two just enthralled me. I loved that Shaw saw Emerson and though she fought him, he never really gave up on her. Emerson also found the courage to move on from her past and I enjoyed that so much about her.

I loved watching the pull between Shaw and Emerson as well. I loved how they fought their attraction, yet couldn't escape it. It made the book intense and toe-curling good! I found they had a great chemistry. I just loved both characters so much!
His mouth crushed mine, slanting over my lips and robbing me of any coherent thought. My world spun. He was everything then.
I thoroughly enjoyed Tease. It was a fun, sexy, and quick read. I loved getting to know Emerson and Shaw. The story played out well and the characters pulled me in.
