Jumble Your Genres Reading Challenge: December ~ New Adult

So this year Readers Live A Thousand LivesCorrie The Book Crazed Girl, and Lovin' Los Libros have teamed up to host the Jumble Your Genres Reading Challenge! For this challenge, the goal is to mix up the genres/categories we read. We have all had those times when we have gotten stuck in the genre/category we are currently reading and read nothing else for a while. The goal here is to mix that up! Each month we will feature a different genre/category and the goal is to read and review one book or more in that genre/category during that month. This month we are focusing on Historical Fiction. If you want to find out more and join in, go sign up here.

New Adult is one of my favorite genres! Of course I have quite a few favorites. So here are a few of them:

Crush (Crash, #3)

 Strength (Mark of Nexus, #1)

 Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful, #1)

For this month I plan to read Stay With Me by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I love this series and I can't wait to meet these characters!

  6. I do not often read New Adult, although I did read a few books this year. I just prefer YA. Also, my main problem with NA is that the books become quite repetitive. Or maybe I just read the wrong books - who knows? The ones that I read were mainly dealing with an innocent heroine falling for a bad boy and then trying to tame him. It gets boring after a while.

BUT I must say that there was one exception, namely, one book that you mentioned above - Slammed by C.H. I loved this book because it was different from the other NA novels I have read. It wasn't about sex or attraction, but more about the couple's issues and I just loved it. Also, bonus point - the poetry!

Are all of C. H's books that good? Which one should I read next? Even though I prefer YA, that doesn't mean I have given up on NA :)

Also, I wanted to ask you if you could recommend me the best paranormal NA novels that you have ever read. Because I love paranormal romances and I haven't read a NA one before and I really want to do so as I have a feeling I would like them more than just the 'normal' NA novels.

    Sorry for the long comment!

    Hugs,

    1. I completely understand that! I love NA, but it can be hard to find ones that feel fresh and a bit original. BUT C.H. is one of the best NA authors that I have found. But lately a few of her newer books do have more sexual themes in them. Though the focus is still more with the characters and their development. Hopeless might be a great one to try next by her and I also really enjoyed Maybe Someday. Pretty emotional read!

Now, finding NA paranormal is actually quite hard! Not enough authors write for that genre and it would be so awesome if they did! Mark of Nexus series by Carrie Butler is a wonderful paranormal NA! And it isn't all based on sex; mostly with character development and that such. Have you read The Deep End of the Sea? If not, I highly recommend that one as well! Dang... that's all I can think of at the moment...

I hope I was of some help! :D

  7. Hey Magen!

Thanks so much for your answer! I will buy Hopeless and Maybe Someday soon then!

And I will also check out the Mark of Nexus series you mentioned. The Deep End of the Sea is on my wish list because I remember having loved your review of it. I totally forgot that it was NA.

    Take care,

    Andreea
